This was recommended to me as a romance book, but I fell in love with he amazing world. This is not a typical Shifter, Vampire and Urban fantasy world book. This was something I liked to write but I know I won’t be there for several years. For a long time this was book I could not put down and I read it in eight hours and skipped sleeping that night so I give it five stars!
Anne Bishops world and character building is amazing. In the book the Others are the savage and ruling group and humans are the minors who just barely survive. There is also detectives who bring some action to usually so boring fantasy and I like the dynamics that the A characters have with the B characters.
The romance in this book was little bit absent. It did not bother me at all as I liked other things a lot, but be warned that the romance is really slow burn!

📚📚📚 Description 📚📚📚
As a cassandra sangue, or blood prophet, Meg Corbyn can see the future when her skin is cut—a gift that feels more like a curse. Meg’s Controller keeps her enslaved so he can have full access to her visions. But when she escapes, the only safe place Meg can hide is at the Lakeside Courtyard—a business district operated by the Others.
Shape-shifter Simon Wolfgard is reluctant to hire the stranger who inquires about the Human Liaison job. First, he senses she’s keeping a secret, and second, she doesn’t smell like human prey. Yet a stronger instinct propels him to give Meg the job. And when he learns the truth about Meg and that she’s wanted by the government, he’ll have to decide if she’s worth the fight between humans and the Others that will surely follow.
